Special Olympics Florida and Special Olympics North America announced they proudly hired Dzaluk to head the USA Games in Orlando from June 5 through June 10 in 2022.

In this role, Dzaluk will oversee a team that will help showcase the power and joy of sports for athletes with intellectual disabilities through the largest humanitarian event in Florida’s history.

Prior to this endeavor, Dzaluk served as the chief financial officer of AA Metals, where he led and managed the finance, information technology and human resources teams.

Dzaluk also spent more than three decades as a senior executive for IBM where he directly supervised the activities of thousands of employees delivering a full range of strategic outsourcing services.

At IBM, Dzaluk worked in Somers for over 10 years, as well as in White Plains and Tarrytown.

His experience in leading teams and driving strategies will be a guiding force as he takes on his new role with the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games featuring more than 4,000 athletes, 10,000 volunteers, 1,500 coaches, and 75,000 fans from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and for the first time, the Caribbean.

“Through the power of sports, the Special Olympics USA Games will set the stage for the awe-inspiring talents each of our athletes with intellectual disabilities hold,” said Dzaluk, who is the son of former Port Chester Mayor Joseph Dzaluk. “I’m honored to lead us on this incredible journey as we show the world what these athletes are capable of accomplishing, and incorporate the powerful message of inclusion and acceptance as the Games make its way to Orlando for the 2022 Games.”

Comprised of 15 Olympic-type team and individual sports, as well as five potential demonstration sports, the Games are expected to be hosted at various venues across the Orlando area including the YMCA Aquatic Center, the U.S. Tennis Association campus, Walt Disney World® Resort and Boardwalk Bowl.
